We've compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions we get from stallholders.

  • Is there an ATM nearby?
    There are ATMs on Main Road Moonah, but not all market attendees will want to pay in cash.
  • What are my transport options?
    If travelling by car, there is ample parking in the Glenorchy City Council Carpark, which can be accessed via Station Street, Albert Street, or Hopkins Street—with a walking path onto Station Street. If you are travelling by bicycle, hop off the inner-city cycleway at the Hopkins Street or Albert Street intersections to access the market held at 46 Station Street, Moonah. If travelling by bus, get off at stop 18 Main Road; Moonah will position you within walking distance via Hopkins Street or Albert Street to market. You can also walk through the Glenorchy City Council Carpark accessed via Memory Lane to Station Street.
  • What does the venue look like?
  • Is there seating provided?
    There is outdoor bench seating available for market attendees and some seating in the fitting room area.
  • Is there coffee & snacks available?
    There are many local coffee shops in the immediate area, we are also working with local vendors to establish a coffee van onsite - we will keep you posted. Award winning food van Get Curry India / Saintly Sweets are regular food vendors on site.
  • When can I bump in and pack down?
    We are an all-weather venue and bump you can bump in at the entrance of the venue from 10 am and pack down is between 3:00 pm and 3:30 pm.
  • Having your collection + stall featured
    To feature in promotional materials please reply to this email to submit your image and wording ASAP. Please forward quality pics - at least 60KB - of your favourite/best/most outstanding/most unusual items. To be considered your submission must include a few words describing your collection. We will select a handful to feature on social media.
  • How do customers prefer to pay?
    Please consider whether you would like your customers to pay you in cash/via eft/through pay id and depending on the option you choose, ensure you have change, your bank details etc clearly printed in large readable font.
  • I am having a stall and would like a poster to advertise the market where can I get one?
    A3 posters have been delivered to coffee shops and other popular locations in and around Hobart. If you would like an A3 poster for your workplace, community hall or noticeboards you can collect some from that preloved place, shop 1/15 Gordon Street, Sorell. We can also drop some into you during business hours if you work in and around Hobart.
  • Where will my stall be positioned on the day?
    Stallholder positions are emailed to all stallholders in the weeks prior to the market. An example is attached for your information. We also have hard copies available on the day. The floorplan is not to scale it is for the purpose of providing you with orientation before the day. We work with our stallholders on the day to manage the space and to ensure everyone is comfortable.
  • Where should stallholders park?
    Please do not park your car in Station Street for the duration of the market - by all means bump into the market as close as possible and then relocate your vehicle to ensure your customers have access to the closest parking options.
  • What is provided and what do I need to bring?
    Please bring a small stool if you would like to be seated during the market. Some of you have opted to hire clothing racks, tables, mannequins and hangers as a part of your booking, these will be in position for you on the day.
  • Are there mirrors and change rooms?
    Yes, for those of you who are selling clothing, we have 4 change rooms available with mirrors. If you are selling jewellery or smaller items like hats, scarves or bags, please consider bringing a small handheld mirror at your stall.
  • Pricing & Signage
    Clear pricing and signage on your stall is important. You don’t want to miss out on a potential sale because your customer is unsure of the price or not confident enough to ask you. If you are open to customers bartering the more you buy the more you save then offer that too.
  • What is the best way to price?
    Give some thought to your pricing, there is no right or wrong, there are many options. Such as grouping items together that are the same price e.g.: $10 rack or table everything one price. Individually pricing items with stickers or tags. Using signage to says all records xx $ CDs $ xx.
  • Stall Capacity & Inclusions
    A single stall site this will comfortably fit either a trestle table or a double clothing rack - it will not fit both. A double stall site will fit a trestle table and a double clothing rail or 4 single clothing rails. To save buying or bringing tables or racks we also offer these for hire at an additional cost. a double rack/rail, available for an additional cost of $20
